Highlights

Development, Security & Justice

The research theme of Development, Security, and Justice (DSJ) explores the complex interplay between economic, political, and social development, security, and justice both in the national and international sphere. DSJ is one of the four research themes of the Rudolf Agricola School for Sustainable Development (RAS) at the University of Groningen.

Cost Action GLITSS

Illicit trade affects all aspects of contemporary societies. Yet, despite this obvious objective relevance, the discussion on illicit trade remains compartmentalized within disciplinary boundaries. The Cost Globalization, Illicit Trade, Sustainability and Security (GLITSS) contributes to filling a research gap.

EU Sanctions Database

The database is an up-to-date and comprehensive overview of the experience of the EU with sanctions. It is constituted by 48 cases of these restrictive measures, which have been subdivided in 85 episodes. The database answers to the when, why, how and where of EU sanctions since the entry into force of the Treaty of Maastricht.
