Target Group
This summer school is intended for Masters, PhD, third year BA students and above, and practitioners. The participants need to have an interest and/or experience in understanding and combating illicit trade, trafficking, finance, and related issues. It is expected that the participants have a sufficient command of the English language to actively participate in the discussions and to present their own work in English .

Guest Speakers
Marco Zinzani
Marco Zinzani is an Italian lawyer. He is co-head of the Export Compliance practice at Studio Legale Padovan (Milan, Italy) and has over 10 years’ experience in the fields of international trade law, export controls and international economic sanctions. His key clients include household names in the European business and banking sectors. He has an impressive academic background with an advanced masters in Comparative, European and International Law and a PhD in European Law, both from Maastricht University (the Netherlands), where he subsequently taught EU law. Marco regularly speaks at professional and academic conferences and seminars on EU law and policies.
Pim Geelhoed
Meet Mr. Dr. W. (Pim) Geelhoed. He is an assistant professor in criminal law and criminal procedure. He specializes specifically in EU criminal law. Alongside his position at Groningen University he is also a deputy judge in the Noord-Nederland District Court. During the summer school Dr. Geelhoed will guide us through the legal trends when it comes to illicit trade and organized crime.
